Testimonials are one of the best sales pitch techniques that has been working in marketing for decades when it comes to freelancing. When you have excellent testimonials it will give your potential clients an assurance that your services are excellent and outstanding. When the potential client is convinced, that potential will convert into a lead client.

Here are suggestions on how you will receive great testimonials from your clients.

1.) Start by delivering great work

One way to ensure you receive great testimonials from your clients is by delivering impressive work. Always make sure to deliver exemplary outputs to your clients, take an extra mile to every project and listen to your client’s instructions attentively. And when you’re done with your project, your client will give you positive and excellent testimony.

2.) Do a survey when you finish the project

Whenever you finish a project with a client, make sure to ask an exit survey to know your performance in accomplishing your projects. This is a technique to know which areas you need to improve. Also, the answers from the exit survey will be used for evaluating the services you delivered  and in enhancing your portfolio.

3.)  Ask for a social media testimonials

You can ask your clients for a testimony on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other social media platforms). Because everything is into digital, the testimonials that your clients will be posted will be seen by many which will  reach potential clients.

4.)  LinkedIn recommendation

LinkedIn recommendations are a great option if you are building and starting out as a freelancer and don’t have any clients yet, it is because there are a lot of potential clients on LinkedIn. If you are already part of LinkedIn, and you already have recommendations from your past employers, you can use these testimonials for a “work with me” page so that clients can see all about you, and see how great you deliver your services to your clients.

5.) Offer a reward for reviews

In most cases, even though you have a happy client you cannot please them to give you a testimonial on their own accord. And, if they’re not willing to give you a testimonial, try to offer your client an incentive, take any extra mile on the projects that you are working on or you may  reward them through a free service. That way they will be convinced to give you excellent reviews.

6.) Ask for Email Testimonials

You’ve been receiving praises and thank you from your client for a job well done. Why not get those messages from your email and use it as a testimonial. An excellent testimonial contributes to your good standing and many clients will be attracted to your services because a good testimonial implies credibility and outstanding output.

7.) Offer trade testimonials

As well as freelancers need testimonials, the clients also need testimonials to stand out online and show their credibility. Credibility is also important to clients because fraud is everywhere and when the client is hiring and you don’t have reviews, freelancers might not trust you and they will see you as a scam.
