Finally, you are accepted on Upwork after so many attempts working on your profile. However, there’s a problem you’re not getting hired on Upwork even you already do all your best. Let’s figure out why you’re not getting hired on Upwork hope this will help you to land your first client on Upwork.
1.) Your Proposal is Not Attractive
Make your proposal that will compel the client, your first paragraph needs to be shown-stopping or wow factor, it is important to convey exactly what you are bringing to the table if how will the client benefit in your proposal. You need to figure to them what ideas you have to make their business a success and make sure to show that you’re enthusiastic, ready and excited about the job.
2.) Your Profile is not Complete
You’ve created a good cover, however, your profile is not complete. A profile that is lower than 50% doesn’t exactly give the clients a lot of confidence in your ability to finish a task. Worse, if you have spelling and grammatical errors in your profile take quality time and write a compelling overview that explains to the client what is your edge from another freelancer. Another reason why you are not getting hired on Upwork simply because you haven’t uploaded any portfolio that you had in the past.
3.) You Apply for Jobs with too many Applicants.
There are many freelancers are applying every day on Upwork and the chances of getting hired are pretty much hard and a tough competition every now and then there are times when a client will find a good fit in the position within the first 5-10 applicants. There’s a saying the early bird that catches the worm, so basically you need to apply as soonest so that if you’re lucky you’ll line up for an interview once you are a good fit in the position that they are looking.
4.) Don’t Bid as regularly as you want to
Bidding can be frustrating and discouraging, but this is what I’ve discovered throughout my stay here in Upwork, that the more times you bid, the more psyched up you become and you will get frustrated once you didn’t get that bid and it becomes a habit. I suggest being at least one or two jobs per day, as it costs two connects per bid to maximize your connects. Remember that things will not fall apart if you don’t have any determination and hard-work accept the fact that sometimes we win and sometimes will lose but every failure will give us strength and we learned from it.
5.) You don’t have any Feedback
I know a lot of you will ask why if I am a newbie, I don’t have any experience, how I supposed to get great feedback without being hired? Honestly, this is out of your control. I’d like to encourage you, all experienced freelancers, they just started as a newbie as well. It took me around a month to get my first client. If you just take note and follow all the mentioned above, you’ll be hired as soonest.
